BET Awards/ MJ Tribute show....

Honestly, I am usually a "wait until the week after the original show to watch it if I really feel like it or unless there is someone worth seeing " type of girl when it comes to the BET awards and most award shows for that matter. So naturally on Thursday when I heard the news of "The King of POP's" demise, while loading my belongings in to the trunk of one of my home girls trunk at Newark Liberty International Airport, I knew that the BET awards was going to have to undergo a drastic change to make it about MJJ, and I knew I was going to tune in via DVR.
So Sunday while waiting in Charlotte- Douglass Int'l Airport i frequently check facebook to see what my peers had to say about the show. As I expected, for no matter how much preparation seems to go into the BET awards it never seems to flow correctly, it was nothing short of a disaster... which is it's norm. I fully expected there to be minor glitches as the show's structure was rearranged to center on the one of the greatest artists of our time as well as continue to honor those that were already promised awards.
Overall I must say that it was just as flawed as it would have been had there been no changes made at all! Faulty microphones, ill placed cameras, missed cues, bad grammar, random performances that had nothing to do with recent songs or Michael (Beyonce... thanks???)... the list goes on.
I was appalled that the show opened up on such a horrible note, and i do mean NOTE with New Edition acting like they have never sung before. Look I know you need practice and all, but damn. Then there was Guy... enough said.
Contrary to popular belief on facebook Keisha Cole did a pretty decent job, of course Monica was on point, but she held her own and did not over sing or scream like normal. The only issue I really had was with her capris!!! WTF?!?!? For real girl?
Keri Hilson forgot who tribute was being paid to and she pulled out all of the stops to be Elvis... hmmm.
Jay Z brought performance back with Death to Autotune. Thank God that one of the Carters (Hov and B) knows how to act at the BET awards...

That will definitely be the last BET awards show that I watch for a LONG time!!! BET still owes Michael a tribute show, and hopefully one will go into the works for a couple WEEKS from now so that proper preparation... PRACTICE!!!

I have nothing else to say at this point...

RIP Michael... We love you and will never forget the impact that you have had on our lives, music, dance, humanitarianism, and so much more. He's outta of my life, outta of my life. I don't know whether to laugh or cry, I don't whether to Live or Die. Cause it cuts like a knife, he's outta of my life...
